Woodley graduated from St. Ambrose with Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education in 1994 and competed in both Football and Baseball for 3 years.

A native of Cedar Falls, IA, Woodley and his wife Andrea live in Urbandale, Iowa and have 2 sons Lute 24 and Rex 21. Woodley currently serves as the Head Varsity Football Coach and Assistant Track along with his teaching duties of Physical Education Instructor grades 10-12.
